The Weakest Week — days that went bad, stayed there, then got worse
(Seven days of navel gazing following the Presidential election of Donald Trump, Nov. 8/9th through Nov. 15th, 2016)
(You’ve seen tens or hundreds of pieces attempting to make sense of what happened on the evening of Nov. 8th. This is that, but less straightforward. I wanted to keep track of my reaction, as Joe Blow Citizen, swimming through the end-game of political disbelief, electoral subterfuge, and national misunderstanding — one screenshot, GIF, or photo of an ex-President at a time.)
On Tuesday (election day!) I saw this inventive app called exit.poll, which was broadcasting a slightly-less-than-real-time video stream of people explaining who they voted for and why, and it struck me as a fascinating view of a raw data stream. (I always find nearly-raw data streams fascinating.) It was an app that appeared to be designed for one day of use, and after voting, I signed-up and added mine.
