A few mornings ago, I woke-up on a saddle of a “sky island” south of Tucson, Arizona. We’d hiked-up Mt. Wrightson the day before, gaining 4,000 ft. with 35lb. packs, and one of our rewards was this sunrise.
When we left the parking lot to start the hike, I said, “maybe we’ll see a UFO!” which is the same thing I’ve said when leaving the parking lot on every backpacking trip I’ve made since Cub Scouts.
