“I’m Simply Here to Gain Attention” — Caption-Hacking Logan Paul’s Apology Video

I’m not up on Logan Paul, and what he did or didn’t do in a forest in Japan. Regardless, I’ve never seen anything like this before: caption-hacking his apology video.

Paul’s closed captions are crowd-sourced, and a team’s been credited with their creation (and they’re continuing to make edits, by the second.) These captioners have successfully created an alternate narrative with the exact opposite intention of Paul’s apology.

Maybe this happens all the time on YouTube, or on Paul’s channel, but it seemed significant to note, and in the spirit of enshrining their effort (should the captions be scrubbed or deleted — they’ve already changed significantly) here they are:
